  Air is a 2023 American biographical sports drama film directed by Ben Affleck and written by Alex Convery. The film is grounded on true events about the origin of Air Jordan, a basketball shoeline, of which a Nike hand seeks to strike a business deal with  novitiate player Michael Jordan. It stars Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, Chris Messina, Chris Tucker and Viola Davis.   The  design was  blazoned in April 2022 with Affleck set to direct, as well as star and produce alongside Damon with their  recently- formed  product company Artists Equity. star photography took place between June and July 2022 with Affleck reuniting with his frequent collaborators photographer Robert Richardson and editor William Goldenberg.

                           The film  entered positive reviews from critics, particularly for Affleck's direction, Convery's  script and the performances of the cast, and has grossed$ 89 million worldwide.   Plot  In 1984, Oregon- grounded Nike,Inc. is on the verge of shutting their basketball shoe division due to low deals. In response to this, Marketing VP Rob Strasser, along withco-founder and CEO Phil Knight, task Nike's basketball  gift scout Sonny Vaccaro to come up with a new  prophet for Nike basketball shoes.   While considering the basketball players chosen in the 1984 NBA draft, Nike's  directors  suppose third pick Michael Jordan is off limits, being both a addict of Adidas and too  precious for the basketball division's  stingy budget. still, once he watches Jordan's highlights in confluence with an Arthur Ashe  marketable for his Head  discordances, Vaccaro becomes convinced that Nike should pursue who he considers a generational  gift, with both brand and athlete  structure off each other.

In the meantime, Knight agrees to assign the basketball division's entire$ 250,000 budget to hire Jordan.   After the meeting with Jordan and his parents is successful, Vaccaro learns that Adidas matched the offer while adding a Mercedes Benz 380SL, and he thinks the deal won't go through. still, Vaccaro receives a call from Deloris, who states that Michael will  subscribe with Nike on the condition he earns a chance of every Air Jordan  vended.  

 Indeed though Vaccaro thinks the company's advanced- ups would not accept this  perk, Knight is told he deems it necessary to  insure the countersign. An epilogue reveals the Air Jordan exceeded Knight's  prospects of$ 3 million in deals, earning$ 162 million( 6)( 7)( 8) in one time and  getting a steady source of income for Nike.
